A Logan man is in custody in Vinton County after a multi-county chase late last week. 30-year-old Austin Daugherty is in the Southeast Ohio Regional jail, facing multiple charges from multiple counties. The chase started on Friday with Ross County Sheriffs Deputies and Ohio State Highway patrol troopers pursing his vehicle at a high rate of speed on U.S. 50 heading towards Vinton County. The pursuit involved police from McArthur and deputies from both the Athens County and Meigs County Sheriffs Department. The chase eventually continued on to S.R. 32 into Meigs County. Daugherty's vehicle was stopped by Sheriffs Deputies near School Lot Road by using a spike strip. Daugherty fled on foot after he lost control of his vehicle, but was apprehended. No injuries were reported in the chase.
