Police are continuing their investigation into the fatal shooting of a minivan driver along Bangerter Highway. Around 9:30 p.m. the victim as well as a small dog were shot and killed by assailants that remain unknown. Several officers with the West Valley police were nearby and heard the gunfire, but arrived too late to apprehend any suspects. However, it is believed that at least two people were present in the car of the suspected gunman.
Three other passengers riding inside of the minivan were uninjured, despite the car striking another vehicle and a power pole after the driver was shot. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
