Three injured in 3-vehicle crash in Centerville

A three-vehicle crash left three people injured, one seriously, police said late Thursday morning.

Centerville Police Sgt. Von Steenblik said that emergency crews responded to a report of a crash at 115 S. Main Street before noon.

The police sergeant said that a man driving a Chevy Monte Carlo attempted to cut across to southbound lanes when a Toyota hit the side and pushed into a Ford pickup truck. The Toyota driver and a female passenger in the Monte Carlo both suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Monte Carlo was removed from the vehicle and moved to a hospital in serious condition. The man was elderly but did not provide an age or identification, Steenblik said.

Steenblik added that the crash closed half of Main Street.

The crash remains under investigation.
