Two North Salt Lake homes have received extensive damage, after a fire that starting in a shed spread to their structures. Fire crews arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. to discover that the back sides of both residences had caught fire and were burning at a rapid pace. According to officials with the South Davis Metro Fire Department it took an estimated 30 firefighters around an hour to simply gain control of the fire.
The families of both homes affected are safe and uninjured, but have been displaced by the event. The homes on either side of those that caught fire have incurred some heat damage as a result, but were ultimately deemed safe enough for those families to remain there. While the fire appears to have started from a shed nearby both residences, the exact cause is still under investigation.
