A Millcreek woman has been seriously injured, after she stepped in front of a moving police car Wednesday morning. Around 2:30 a.m. the 30-year-old woman stepped in front of the southbound car and was hit. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital and was reportedly listed in critical condition. However, officials with South Salt Lake Police say that they believe her condition is improving.
The officer involved in the accident is reportedly uninjured, but shaken by the accident. Conditions on the stretch of road where the accident occurred are reported to be bad, with a street light being out that causes visibility to be low. Currently it remains unknown whether the woman was trying to cross the street, or intentionally stepped in front of the vehicle.
