Wildfire near Bountiful continues

Emergency crews continue to fight against a wildfire that sparked close to a neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. The Summerwood fire, originally believed to have burned 150 acres, has been revised to be only 75 acres as of Wednesday afternoon, according to officials with the U.S. Forest Service. While it remains 0 percent contained, the fire did not gain much ground overnight.

Helicopter and ground crews began working around 9 a.m. Wednesday to bring the blaze under control. Efforts have so far included construction lines around the fire perimeter and helicopters dropping water on hot spots. So far roughly 30 personnel are on site fighting the fire from spreading, utilizing two helicopters, one plane, and seven fire engines.

City Creek Canyon and trails near to it have been closed until the fire has been contained.
