Unified Police are looking for a person or persons involved in allegedly shooting at a group of rock climbers in Little Cottonwood Canyon Monday night. Around 6 p.m. police were contacted by the climbers claiming that someone had shot at them from the north as they were hiking. They were not hit, but told police they could hear whizzing by and striking nearby rocks.
One witness told officers that a green car with an estimated three people inside may have been involved, but the vehicle had left the canyon before officers arrived. Investigators were able to find several used bullet casings straight across the canyon from where the group had been climbing.
