A man has died from a self-inflicted gunshot would, following a standoff with police Monday morning. Unified police responded to a call of an assault at a residence in East Millcreek, after a woman escaped and called police. The woman told officers that her 58-year-old husband had threatened to kill her.
SWAT teams were called to the scene when the man threatened to injure himself or others and barricaded himself inside the residence. The standoff lasted for several hours, resulting in the man shooting himself shortly before noon. The identity of the man and his wife have not been released.
