A 2-year-old child is dead of suspected heat exposure after being left in the back seat of a vehicle. The child was found dead in the back seat of a "coach-style van" around 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening in a subdivision near St. George. The temperature outside at that time was roughly 106 degrees.
The incident happened while several families from out of state were present at a family reunion. The reunion consisted of more than five families and 25 to 30 children. Right now investigators consider the incident to be a "tragic accident."
