Brian Head fire now gone through 27 acres

A fire which started from a weed torch Saturday has now grown to over 27,000 acres in size according to officials. The size of the fire has reached an astounding 43 miles in size, only one mile smaller than the size of Provo City. Garfield County Sheriff has said that at least 10 residences and six outbuildings have been destroyed as a result of the blaze as of Friday morning. As the fire has now also spread down Clear Creek another nine residences and six outbuildings have been destroyed as well. 

Dead trees and vegetation are going up in flames at a rapid pace, a danger that was already known to fire officials before the blaze. So far only 5 percent of the fire is considered to be contained. More than 800 firefighters are fighting the blaze. So far there have been no injuries reported.
