Man critically injured in car crash on SR138

A man is hospitalized and in critical condition, after his truck ran into a semitruck on State Route 138 Wednesday morning. Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on the road around 7a.m., where Utah Highway Patrol says they discovered a 28-year-old man who'd been driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck had crossed into the westbound lane of traffic and collided with the semitruck. The man was rushed to a Salt Lake City hospital in critical condition. The accident prompted a temporary road closure while crews took care of the situation.

The 53-year-old driver of the semitruck was unharmed. The road has since been reopened, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
