Four lanes on southbound I-15 near Lindon have been shut down by authorities, after a car struck a Utah Highway Patrol trooper Monday morning. Officials say the trooper was hit while on a traffic stop in the emergency lane, and was critically injured in the collision. The driver of the SUV involved in the accident was also critically injured. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
UHP responded to the accident shortly after 11 a.m. and closed the four left lanes on the freeway. Authorities say the road is expected to reopen around 2 p.m.
