Three vehicle accident claims a life

A three vehicle accident on U-S 23 Thursday afternoon in Ross County has claimed a life. 43-year-old Jonathan Jordan of Greenfield was traveling southbound on 23 in his Ford pick-up truck when a car driven by 63-year-old Carol Wade of Bluefield, West Virginia, crossed the median, and entered the southbound lanes near Crouse Chapel Road. Wade's car collided with Jordan's truck, then was struck by a semi driven by 68-year-old Ricky Tulbert of Virginia. Jordan's truck overturned and caught fire, and he was ejected from the vehicle. Jordan later died from his injuries at Adena Regional Medical Center. Carol Wade suffered serious injuries and was transported by MedFlight to Grant Hospital in Columbus. The truck driver, Ricky Tulbert, treated at the scene, while a juvenile passenger in Wade's car was taken for treatment as a precaution. 23 was closed for four hours after the accident. No cause has been determined.
