After thinking twice about an earlier indication he might not run, Utah 1st District Congressman Rob Bishop confirmed today he is officially out of the congressional race in 2020. The 8-term lawmaker is leaving the door open for a possible run for Governor. A number of names are being tossed around as possible replacements. Whichever Republican wins the nomination to replace Bishop next year will be a heavy favorite to win the election in a heavy republican district.
