Breaking with years of tradition, The Utah Education Association, the state's largest teachers union, is cancelling it fall convention. Don't worry the annual UEA Weekend will still be observed, teachers just won't be going to a convention. The UEA convention faces falling interest, plus it admits it will allow teachers to focus on getting a gas tax increase approved by voters in November. Money from the increase would allow the state to funnel more money into education.
