Trump, the general in the culture war

We keep hearing the line about how Trump's tweets are below the dignity of the office and whatnot. While it's true he's definitely a very vocal tweeter, almost to the point of obsession, the fact of the matter is that social media is the way that the president gets to connect with the American people better than simply relying on traditional mainstream media. It's a lot like what Reagan did, only a lot less eloquently. But it's interesting how the same people who decry the president using Twitter and the things he says there, seemed to have no problem with the unbelievable lies of the Obama administration and their attempts to use the full force and power of the government to silence any and all opposition.

Remember how shortly after taking office the guidelines for potential domestic terrorist warning signs were changed to include basically anything conservative? Or how about the illegal wiretapping of reporters and the attempt to put Fox News Correspondent James Rosen behind bars? And of course we are ALL intimately familiar with the IRS being used as a political weapon. All of these things Obama claimed he knew nothing about and that he found out from the news, as though he had nothing to do with any of them being the president and all. To me, and to a lot of people, that spoke volumes.

I'm not defending everything he says. Admittedly a lot of it is beyond the pale of stupidity. But, there are far worse examples of someone being in office.
