Steers on the street

An interesting sight on the streets of Washington Court House Monday morning. Two steers being taken to processing managed to get loose on city streets, the two animals were being taken to Morris Frozen Food Locker for processing when they managed to break free. The steers were seen on a number of city streets as Washington police attempted to corral them. Eventually, the decision was made to "put the animals down" in the interest of public safety. Members of the Fayette Regional Humane Society also took part in the efforts to capture the two steers. No word how they got free. The owners of the steers retrieved the carcasses and took them back to their farm to bury them.
