Former teacher sentenced to prison

A former middle school teacher from Weber County was sentenced to prison for the sexual abuse of two young girls.

Drew Daniel Tutt, 29, was sentenced Feb. 28 to serve consecutive sentences of up to five years in prison for two counts of sexual abuse of a minor student.

Tutt pleaded guilty to the charges in December. In exchange, additional charges were dismissed, including two counts of unlawful detention of a minor and two counts of enticing a minor by internet or text.

Charges state, "Drew admitted that what he was doing was wrong but it made him feel good and happy."

Tutt has no prior criminal history outside of traffic tickets, according to court records.
