Midvale police looking for teens involved in crash

Midvale police are asking for the public's help in tracking down several teens they believe were involved in an incident where two cars crashed into a garage. Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday two vehicles occupied with teenagers lost control and went off the road. The vehicle struck several objects along its path, including street signs and trees, before finally coming to a stop after colliding into a garage. The impact caused a considerable amount of damage to the garage itself, including a part of the roof of the structure.

Immediately following the crash the teens inside the cars ran off. Police managed to track down one of the drivers who was walking a short distance away, but officers were forced to use a taser to subdue him when he refused to comply with officer's commands. Investigators say they know the names of the other teens involved, but are still attempting to locate them.

The garage that was struck has been condemned by building inspectors, but the remainder of the house is in fine enough shape that the residents are able to remain. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
