Police are attempting to locate a woman who they claim was involved in stabbing a neighbor in the neck following an argument. Police responded to a report of a stabbing not around 12:20 a.m., and when officers arrived they found a man lying on the ground in front of his house having suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck. Neighbors at the scene had been trying to render care until emergency personnel could arrive to render the appropriate level of care.
A suspect believed to be connected with the incident is now being sought for questioning by Salt Lake police. Dyann Hernandez, 23, is said to have fled the scene in a white SUV before authorities arrived. According to witnesses interviewed Hernandez and the victim were neighbors and were involved in what is described as an "ongoing neighbor dispute" that led up the stabbing. Court records show Hernandez has a long list of criminal history in Utah, with charges being filed against her as recently as Oct. 24 for aggravated assault, a third-degree felony, in a different unrelated case.
Anyone with any possible information about Hernandez's whereabouts is encouraged to call Salt Lake police at 801-799-3000.
