LDS Apostle Robert D. Hales passes away

Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints announced Sunday that one of their senior leadership, Robert D. Hales, had passed away shortly after the morning session of their general conference had concluded. Hales had been in the hospital receiving treatment at the hospital at the time of his passing, and it is reported that he was surrounded by family, friends, and another member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, the leadership body in which he had served since 1994. Hales had been unable to attend the conference in person during any of the sessions prior to his passing.

The church has said that funeral plans for the late apostle will be announced later on, as things are still being arranged.
