A Utah Highway Patrol trooper has sustained minor injuries, after being struck be a vehicle. Trooper Dale Talbot was assisting a vehicle that had spun into a concrete barrier early Friday morning. While investigating the incident a Nissan pickup truck heading north lost control, resulting in the vehicle spinning out and ultimately crashing into the rear of Talbot's car. At the time of the collision Talbot happened to be inside the vehicle, and was taken to a local hospital.
Both vehicles have sustained what is being described as "major damage." At the time of the crash there was a light rain taking place, which may have been a factor in the incident. So far 10 troopers have been hit just this year, with most incidents occurring during less than ideal weather.
