Searchers have located the body of a 4-year-old girl who had been swept away by the rapid flowing waters of the Provo river. Search and rescue crews found the body of London DeDios caught in some debris roughly a mile from where she fell in Sunday morning. Searchers had been scrambling to find the girl over the past 24 hours. The girl's mother and another person trying to help also died while trying to rescue her.
Authorities believe the girl slipped into the cold river and that she was swiftly dragged away despite the unsuccessful efforts of her mother and bystanders to rescue her. The water was an estimated 45 degrees at the time, and the area where the girl fell in was described as "rough and tumble."
