Two killed in head on collision

A head-on collision in Duchesne County has left two people dead according to Utah Highway Patrol. Around 4:30 Sunday afternoon a Chrysler traveling eastbound on SR 87 collided with a Hyundai that was heading the opposite direction. The driver of the Chrysler unexpectedly veered into the westbound land and collided with the Hyundai. The drivers of both vehicles were killed as a result of the collision.

There had been two passengers inside the Chrysler and four passengers inside the Hyundai. So far no word has been given regarding if any of the passengers were injured as a result of the crash. Names of the drivers killed have yet to be released, pending family notification.

Troopers have said they do not believe either speed or impairment to be contributing factors in the crash.
