Remains of a Utah Soldier Identified 70 Years After His Death in Combat

U-S MILITARY OFFICIALS HAVE ACCOUNTED FOR THE REMAINS OF TWO WORLD WAR II AIRMEN... 70 YEARS AFTER THEY DISAPPEARED, DURING A BOMBING RUN OVER NEW GUINEA.

ONE OF THEM IS 1ST LT. BRYANT POULSEN, OF SALT LAKE.

POULSEN -- AND ANOTHER FIRST LEIUTENANT -- WERE IDENTIFIED THROUGH D-N-A... AND OTHER EVIDENCE, COLLECTED AT THE CRASH SITE.

THEIR B-24 BOMBER CRASHED -- AFTER BEING HIT, BY ANTI-AIRCRAFT FIRE -- IN APRIL, 1944.
