West Valley City Police have identified the man who entered their department headquarters, Monday morning, with a gun.
James Kammeyer, 39, was shot by a police officer after allegedly pulling a gun out of his pocket, while standing in the department's lobby.
Authorities say, four months ago the man told them he wanted to die in a 'suicide-by-cop,' because he is a registered sex offender and claims his wife had taken his children from him.
His injuries are not considered life-threatening. He was the only one hurt in the incident.
It's unclear whether Kammeyer fired his gun.
