A narrow vote, on a controversial issue, from the Salt Lake City Council Tuesday night.

Council members voted 4-3, to install the next section of the Sugarhouse streetcar line on Eleventh East.

The decision comes despite vocal opposition from residents and business owners along the street, who asked the city to pursue its second option instead -- to extend the line eastward, on 21st South.

City officials say, because funding is not yet available, ground is not expected to be broken on the rail tracks construction for at least five years.
